Basketball Recap: Jay Comes Up Short

After flying high against Commerce last Saturday, Jay came back down to earth. The Jay Bulldogs took a blow against the Vinita Hornets on Monday, falling 79-51. The Bulldogs lost against the Hornets in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 44-38 score last time.

Jay has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Vinita, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-13 record this season.

While Jay had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
