Football Recap: Del Sol Takes a Loss

Del Sol was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They took a 24-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Desert Oasis Diamondbacks. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada football rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Diamondbacks are ranked second).

Akemi Higa continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Desert Oasis, throwing for 216 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes, while also punching in one touchdown on the ground.

Del Sol's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Desert Oasis, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-2.

Del Sol does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Desert Oasis, they will head out on the road to square off against Cheyenne at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Desert Oasis is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 38.2 points per game this season.
