Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for University Prep

University Prep took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against South Whidbey, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pumas never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Pumas sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Not much got past Hawthorne Moody, who gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep South Whidbey off the board. Moody also tossed no walks, which is notable because University Prep is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-3 otherwise.

University Prep's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for South Whidbey, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-7.

University Prep will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
