New Riegel had won nine straight at home, but on Friday they bumped their record up to 13-3 to make it ten. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Lakota Raiders 4-2. The win continues a trend for the Blue Jackets in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won five in a row.

As for Lakota, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-10. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Lakota's part, Hannah Stahl was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. New Riegel is set to challenge their familiar foe Gibsonburg at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Blue Jackets 2, the Golden Bears 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Lakota will square off against rival Danbury at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
