Aragon Made His Presence Known in Dove Creek's 40-0 Win

Starting off the list is Dove Creek's Nicholas Aragon, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Aragon made 12 total tackles.

Aragon is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against Sargent on Friday. When Aragon last faced the Farmers back in October of 2023, he picked up three sacks and made seven total tackles.

Trason Gartrell Goes Supernova in Sanford Loss

Sanford had to settle for second on Friday, but Trason Gartrell sure wasn't going down easily. Gartrell was unstoppable, rushing for 136 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries.

The loss snapped Sanford's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-3 record. Gartrell will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant performance when he faces off against Dolores on Friday.

Owen Tackett Sets Career High in Rushing Yards

Owen Tackett posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He rushed for 175 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making three total tackles and defending two passes.

Norwood's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-4. Tackett and Norwood will head out to challenge Mancos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Brycen Rummel Sets Career High in Rushing Yards

Brycen Rummel posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, and also threw for 84 yards and a touchdown.

This season, Rummel has thrown 14 touchdowns while averaging 166.7 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 40.71 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 75.14 rushing yards.

Brandon Vannest Crosses Big Stat Threshold

Mancos picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Brandon Vannest. Vannest was excellent, rushing for 149 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also throwing for 114 yards and two touchdowns on only nine passes. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (101.1). He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

Mancos' win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Vannest and Mancos will face off against Norwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
