Basketball Recap: Helias Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

On Wednesday, the Helias Crusaders didn't have too much trouble with the Monroe City Panthers as they won 60-42. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Crusaders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 161st, while the Panthers are ranked 48th).

Helias' win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-7. As for Monroe City, with the loss, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-2.

Helias didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-42 victory against Bolivar on the 17th. As for Monroe City, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Highland at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th.
