Basketball Recap: Midlands STEM Charter Takes a Loss

Midlands STEM Charter lost against C.A. Johnson back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Midlands STEM Charter Mavericks had to suffer through an 89-33 loss at the hands of the C.A. Johnson Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while the Hornets are ranked 128th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead C.A. Johnson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aiassiac Germany, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards. C.A. Johnson is 11-4 when Germany posts eight or more rebounds, but 5-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Milton McCray, who posted 16 points in addition to six boards and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Midlands STEM Charter and nudges their season record down to 2-17. As for C.A. Johnson, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Midlands STEM Charter nor C.A. Johnson have any future games scheduled.
