Baseball Recap: Lincoln Prep Comes Up Short

If Lincoln Prep was riding high fresh off their 14-1 takedown of San Carlos on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lightning came up short against the Madison Highland Prep Heat on Wednesday, falling 11-1.

Lincoln Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Platt, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Lincoln Prep has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9-1 record this season. As for Madison Highland Prep, they moved to 5-11 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

The Lightning are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Roadrunners an eight-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. As for Madison Highland Prep, they will face off against Arete Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The CHARGERS have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.2 runs per game on average), something the Heat will no doubt try to take advantage of.
