Volleyball Recap: Refugio Takes a Loss

Refugio managed to slip by Agua Dulce the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bobcats lost 3-0 to the Longhorns on Friday. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Refugio was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-17, 25-24.

Ja'Zae-Lynne Lewis paced Refugio's offense, picking up eight kills. Lewis got some help from Caylee Collins and her 13 assists. Finally, Jazmyn Howard kept Refugio's defense grounded, leading the team with nine blocks.

Refugio's loss dropped their record down to 17-17. As for Agua Dulce, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Refugio is set to take on their familiar foe Three Rivers at 6:05 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Agua Dulce will face off against rival Skidmore-Tynan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
