Basketball Recap: Bronaugh Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Gabby Cox and Jada Brundridge

Bronaugh suffered their closest loss since January 29th on Monday. They fell just short of the Northeast Vikings by a score of 25-22. The Wildcats have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Bronaugh's loss came despite strong showings from Jada Brundridge and Gabby Cox. Brundridge posted five points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks, while Cox earned 12 points and five rebounds. Brundridge is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 17 games she's played dating back to last season.

Even though they lost, Bronaugh smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Bronaugh's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Northeast, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bronaugh will take on Hume in a holiday battle at at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northeast, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Jayhawk Linn on January 3, 2025. Northeast hasn't scored more than 25 points for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.
