Football Recap: Northeastern Skates Past Shenandoah with Ease

Northeastern had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They really took it to the Shenandoah Raiders for the full four quarters, racking up a 34-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won seven contests by 22 points or more so far this season.

It was another big night for Trent Deloney, who rushed for 137 yards and one TD on only 12 carries, and also picked up 32 receiving yards. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making five total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Northeastern was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 304 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 162 rushing yards in three consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Shenandoah still got an impressive performance from Cash Cowley, who rushed for 68 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 63 receiving yards.

Northeastern's record now sits at 9-1. As for Shenandoah, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Coming up, Northeastern will square off against Triton Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. Shenandoah does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
