Martinsville is 9-0 against Zavalla since November of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Martinsville Pirates will welcome the Zavalla Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Martinsville will head into Tuesday's game out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Wells and fell 88-42. While losing is never fun, Martinsville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1217th, while Wells is ranked 565th).

Meanwhile, Zavalla played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 67-33 loss at the hands of Broaddus. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-16.

Martinsville now has a losing record at 15-16. As for Zavalla, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season.

Martinsville didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Zavalla when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 51-46 win. Does Martinsville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Zavalla turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
