Soccer Game Preview: Poteet vs. Belton

The Poteet Pirates will square off against the Belton Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Poteet is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Molina get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The win was some much needed relief for Poteet as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Yaretzi Munoz and Bailey Palacio scored both of Poteet's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 24 goals.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Belton challenged Kaufman on Thursday. Belton sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over Kaufman. Belton's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three games.

Belton is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-2-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 62 goals over those 13 matchups. Poteet's victory bumped their record up to 14-4-3.
