Soccer Game Preview: George Ranch vs. Alief Elsik

George Ranch is 0-7-1 against Alief Elsik since February of 2017 but things could change on Saturday. The George Ranch Longhorns will host the Alief Elsik Rams at 1:00 p.m.

George Ranch is headed into Saturday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They lost 5-2 to Strake Jesuit. Things were pretty much settled by the half as the Longhorns were already down 3-0.

Meanwhile, Alief Elsik put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Strake Jesuit onto the board and left with a 2-0 win. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked first, while the Fighting Crusaders are ranked 26th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Alief Elsik's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those five matchups. As for George Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8-1.

George Ranch came up short against Alief Elsik when the teams last played back in March of 2020, falling 3-1. Can George Ranch avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
