Patrick County managed to slip by Alleghany the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Patrick County came up short against Alleghany on Friday, falling 7-1. Patrick County's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Patrick County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Journey Moore, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Patrick County's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Alleghany, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Patrick County will venture away from home to take on Carroll County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cavaliers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.65 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Alleghany, they are taking a road trip to square off against Floyd County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Buffaloes have averaged an impressive 10.1 runs per game this season.
