Football Recap: Mt. Zion Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mt. Zion can now relate to. They were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 14-13 to the Waterloo Bulldogs. The matchup marked the Braves' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Mt. Zion still got an impressive performance from Kellen Bollhorst, who rushed for 46 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 30 receiving yards.

Mt. Zion moved to 8-2 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak. As for Waterloo, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Mt. Zion does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Waterloo, they will host Rochester at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Rockets have now posted at least 31 points in their last eight matchups.
