Basketball Recap: Sunrise Mountain Comes Up Short

Sunrise Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Faith Lutheran Crusaders, falling 74-27. While losing is never fun, the Miners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Crusaders are ranked 23rd).

When it comes to explaining why Sunrise Mountain lost, don't look at Brice Wilson. Despite the final result, he posted ten points and three steals. That's the most points Wilson has posted since back in February of 2024.

Sunrise Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Faith Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.

Sunrise Mountain didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-43 defeat against Green Valley on the 22nd. As for Faith Lutheran, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 69-58 victory against Basic on the 22nd.
