It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Parkland had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Liberty Hurricanes, sneaking past 1-0. Winning may never get old, but the Trojans sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Parkland got a great performance from Sawyer Marsteller as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Marsteller has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Parkland saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Gerhart, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run. Those two hits gave Gerhart a new career-high.

Parkland pushed their record up to 20-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Liberty, their loss dropped their record down to 20-6.

Parkland wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Neshaminy on the 2nd. As for Liberty, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-3 victory against Henderson on the 2nd.
