Softball Game Preview: Poteet Aggies vs. Jourdanton Indians/Squaws

Poteet is 0-10 against Jourdanton since April of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. Poteet will take on Jourdanton at 6:00 p.m. Poteet has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Poteet came up short against San Antonio Christian on Friday, falling 21-11.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Jourdanton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Cornerstone Christian a 5-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Indians/Squaws as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jourdanton let Bobbiejo Gonzales and Maebry Jupe run wild. Gonzales scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3, while Jupe went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Gonzales a new career-high.

Jourdanton's record is now 7-13. As for Poteet, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Poteet suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Jourdanton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Poteet avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
