Covington came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.8 points), and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 35-21 victory over the Milton-Union Bulldogs. This was payback for the Buccs, who suffered a 29-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Milton-Union still got an impressive performance from Charlie Lane, who rushed for 138 yards and two TDs. With that strong performance, Lane is now averaging an impressive 102.2 rushing yards per game.

Covington now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Milton-Union, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

Covington has already played their next game, a 48-34 defeat against Lehman Catholic on the 24th. As for Milton-Union, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 35-31 win against Bethel on the 24th.
