Football Recap: Sheridan Comes Up Short

If Sheridan was feeling good fresh off their 64-20 takedown of West Memphis last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellowjackets fell 48-42 to the Jonesboro Hurricane on Friday. Despite 168 more yards than the Hurricane, the Yellowjackets couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Sheridan still got an impressive performance from Zay Stephens, who rushed for 146 yards and three scores, and also picked up 34 receiving yards. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Dylan Smith, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Jonesboro had a senior duo take command as Tj Brown gained 133 total yards and four touchdowns and Asa Myers threw for 203 yards and three TDs.

Sheridan now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Jonesboro, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3.

Sheridan didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 87-42 defeat against Benton on the 10th. As for Jonesboro, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 31-14 victory against Catholic on the 10th.
