Recap: Buena Colts vs. Nogales Apaches
The Buena Colts lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They had to suffer through a rough 57-27 loss at the hands of Nogales. Buena has not had much luck with Nogales recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Buena's loss came despite strong showings from London Richardson and Grace Hohman. Richardson scored nine points along with three steals, while Hohman scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals. Richardson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.
Cecilia Burruel continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Nogales, scoring 25 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Johanna Simpson, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Buena has not been sharp recently as the team has lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Nogales, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Cienega the next time they take the court. Nogales will host Cienega at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Buena will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
