Recap: Farmington Scorpions vs. La Cueva Bears
On Friday, The Farmington Scorpions faced the La Cueva Bears in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Farmington took a serious blow against La Cueva, falling 63-28. Farmington's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Cameron Dyer had a dynamite game for La Cueva, rushing for 117 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 332 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt. Dyer hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for five straight games. Tanner Montano was another key contributor, gaining 161 total yards and two touchdowns.
La Cueva's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Waylon Sanchez and his two sacks.
Farmington has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for La Cueva, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Farmington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. La Cueva also has no future games currently scheduled.
