Soccer Recap: River Valley Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

With a playoff win on the line, River Valley rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Vanden Vikings. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 195th, while the Vikings are ranked 469th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

River Valley hit Vanden with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Miguel Ortiz, Benjamin Barriga, and Alex Navarette.

River Valley pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those nine contests. As for Vanden, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-6.
