Gilmer waltzed into their match on Friday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They put the hurt on the Pine Tree Pirates with a sharp 10-3 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Buckeyes considering their two-run performance the game before.

Gilmer pushed their record up to 15-2-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Pine Tree, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-13-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Gilmer is set to square off against their familiar foe Kilgore at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pine Tree will challenge rival Spring Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
