Football Recap: West Lafayette Falls to Harrison in First Game of Season

West Lafayette had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 28-21 to the Harrison Raiders. The Red Devils have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why West Lafayette lost, don't look at Kojo Steffey. Despite the final result, he rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 56 receiving yards and one score. Fielder Melchi also helped out with an impressive 88 receiving yards.

Harrison had a senior duo take command as Channing Glick picked up 174 receiving yards and three TDs and Lannon Nicoloff threw for 249 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80.8% of his passes.

Looking ahead, West Lafayette will face off against McCutcheon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Harrison, they will challenge Plainfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
