Basketball Recap: Irion County Comes Up Short

Irion County blew Water Valley out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Water Valley got their revenge. The Irion County Hornets fell just short of the Water Valley Wildcats by a score of 62-59. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Irion County's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Water Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Irion County will venture away from home to challenge Blackwell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Water Valley, they will host Veribest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
