Basketball Game Preview: Mountainair Mustangs vs. Alamo Navajo Cougars

Mountainair hasn't had much luck against Alamo Navajo recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Mountainair Mustangs will welcome the Alamo Navajo Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Alamo Navajo will be up against a hot Mountainair squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Mountainair blew past Carrizozo, posting a 56-15 win.

Mountainair's win on Monday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gabriella Knoten, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Lopez, who posted 13 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Alamo Navajo strolled past Hondo Valley with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 58-40.

Mountainair's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-18. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points over those games. As for Alamo Navajo, their win bumped their record up to 10-16.
