Basketball Recap: North Gem Takes a Loss

North Gem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 56-46 to the Leadore Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-32 back in December of 2024.

Jared Ramsey was nothing short of spectacular for Leadore: he dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards. Ramsey has become a key player for Leadore: the team is 7-3 when he posts at least eight rebounds, but 1-8 otherwise. Dane Piippo was another key player, putting up eight points along with six blocks and five assists.

North Gem's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Leadore, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season.

As of now, neither North Gem nor Leadore have any future games scheduled.
