Basketball Recap: Turlock Christian Eagles vs. Millennium Falcons
The Turlock Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 63-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Millennium. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Turlock Christian of the 59-48 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Turlock Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben Bylsma, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds. Bylsma continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Michael Miller, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Millennium to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eiden Ndeithi, who scored 20 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jae Shaun Phillips, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Turlock Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Millennium, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-17.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Turlock Christian will take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Elliot Christian is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Millennium, they will be playing at home against the Knights at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stone Ridge Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully the Falcons like a good challenge.
