Football Game Preview: Seton Hall Prep Pirates vs. Don Bosco Prep Ironmen

Seton Hall Prep hasn't had much luck against Don Bosco Prep recently, but that could start to change on the 14th. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. Seton Hall Prep has given up an average of 29.1 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Seton Hall Prep's offense might be in the hot seat on the 14th considering what happened against Bergen Catholic on Saturday. They were outmatched by the Crusaders and fell 40-0. Having soared to a lofty 38 points in the game before, the Pirates' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Don Bosco Prep faced St. Peter's Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Ironmen blew past the Marauders 31-6. The Ironmen haven't had any issues with the Marauders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Don Bosco Prep's win came from a few key players Seton Hall Prep will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ca'si Thomas, who rushed for 64 yards and two scores. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Schoen, who threw for 156 yards and one TD while completing 90% of his passes.

Seton Hall Prep's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Don Bosco Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.

Seton Hall Prep was taken down by Don Bosco Prep 40-7 in their previous meeting back in October. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
