Recap: Buford Yellowjackets vs. Andrew Jackson Volunteers
The Buford Yellowjackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 74-20 defeat at the hands of Andrew Jackson. Buford was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 62-0.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Andrew Jackson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tamia Watkins, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. Watkins is crushing the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ni?Yonna Asbelle, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Buford has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Andrew Jackson, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 18-4.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Central the next time they take the court. Andrew Jackson will head out to face Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Buford will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
