Softball Game Preview: Center Line Panthers vs. Lamphere Rams

For the first time this season, Center Line will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will hit the road for the first time this season to take on the Lamphere Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Center Line is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against Port Huron, falling 18-2.

Meanwhile, Lamphere unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 16-10 to Clawson.

Aliana Martinez (2026) made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-5. Paige Oltersdorf also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Lamphere now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Center Line, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything went Center Line's way against Lamphere when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Center Line made off with a 20-10 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
