Volleyball Recap: Colton Yellowjackets vs. Arroyo Valley Hawks
Colton came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Arroyo Valley Hawks, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Tuesday.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-17, 25-15.
Alahna Sanchez had another great game (as she tends to do), getting 34 digs and four aces for Arroyo Valley. Sanchez has been hot for a while, having posted 14 or more digs the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Monserrat Arredondo, who had seven aces and four digs.
Colton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Arroyo Valley, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Colton will be taking part in a tournament against Carter at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Arroyo Valley, they will challenge Bloomington at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks are facing the Bruins at the right time seeing as the Bruins are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
