Softball Recap: Kenston Forest's Run of Six Straight Victories Now Over

Kenston Forest dropped their record down to 17-6 on Thursday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Brunswick Academy Vikings, falling 11-1. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Kavaliers, who until this matchup were averaging 3.7 runs allowed.

Kenston Forest saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Palyn Marker (2027), who went 2-for-3 with one double.

As for Brunswick Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-5. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won 13 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

On Brunswick Academy's side, Emily August-Faith King was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. King has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Brunswick Academy let Aubrey Lynn Corum and Caylen Jackson run wild. Corum went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Jackson went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most doubles Corum has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Reed Walker, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As of now, neither Kenston Forest nor Brunswick Academy have any future games scheduled.
