Softball Recap: Roosevelt Rough Riders vs. Tallmadge Blue Devils
Roosevelt extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 4-6. They lost 13-2 to the Tallmadge Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-4 last Friday.
Roosevelt saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katlyn Ciolek, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Another was Skylar Lauck, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As for Tallmadge, their win bumped their record up to 12-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.
On Tallmadge's side, Caitlyn Carter and Taryn Roberts dominated on the mound. Carter pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit, while Roberts pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Carter has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Naomi Richardson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Sophia Kroah was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
