Volleyball Recap: North Port Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Sarah Martinez and Natalie Shelton

It was a proper cat-fight when North Port faced off against Gulf Coast HEAT on Monday. The Bobcats fell just short of the Lions by a score of 3-2. The Bobcats just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

North Port started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 16-25, 25-17, 25-14, 15-9.

North Port's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Natalie Shelton, who had 18 digs, and Sarah Martinez, who had four digs and two aces. Martinez is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

North Port's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Gulf Coast HEAT, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

North Port wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Booker on the 7th. As for Gulf Coast HEAT, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Sarasota Christian on the 15th.
