Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Academy Eagles vs. Brunswick Dragons

The Lincoln Academy Eagles are headed away from home for the first time to take on the Brunswick Dragons at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither Lincoln Academy nor Brunswick posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Lincoln Academy is leaving town to face Brunswick after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Eagles fell just short of Oceanside by a score of 4-2 on Friday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Lincoln Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Sanborn, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Ryan Powell was another, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Brunswick fell victim to Hampden and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Broncos. The loss continues a trend for the Dragons in their meetings with the Broncos: they've now lost six in a row.

Lincoln Academy came up short against Brunswick when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 9-4. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
