Football Recap: Linkoln Grabner and Jaidon Vanpelt Lead the Defense for Carroll Win

Carroll won the last time they faced Fort Wayne South Side and Gabe Frisinger did his part to make sure it happened again. The Chargers simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Archers 42-6 thanks in part to Frisinger, who threw for 239 yards and a pair of touchdowns. His passing game has become a key predictor of Carroll's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise.

Carroll didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Linkoln Grabner and Jaidon Vanpelt. Carroll got some further help from Coleman Tipton: he made 14 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Several Archers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chris Mhoon, who rushed for 85 yards, and also picked up 51 receiving yards.

The victory got Carroll back to even at 3-3. As for Fort Wayne South Side, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carroll will welcome Homestead at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Wayne South Side, they will host Fort Wayne North Side at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
