 Homestead got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Jerniyah Fowles out in front who threw for 259 yards and three  touchdowns while completing 79.2% of her passes, and also rushed for 40 yards. That's the most  rushing yards  Fowles has posted since back in April.  Zakieria Cobb was another key back, gaining 133 total yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Chiles faced Pace in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Timberwolves snuck past the Patriots with  a  12-6 win.
Chiles found their leader in freshman  Kendall Sadberry, who rushed for 55 yards and one  TD, and also threw for 128 yards and one  touchdown. Sadberry didn't just play on offense: she also made two total tackles and defended one pass in addition to snagging  an  interception.
 On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Chiles' defense and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by  Tessa Vermillion and  Ali Harllee, who racked up  five sacks between them.
 Homestead has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.0 points on average over those games. As for Chiles, their record now sits at 14-4.
 Thursday's  matchup will pit two  of the most dominant  signal callers against one another:  Fowles and  Sadberry. Fowles just won't slow down this season and  has thrown 47 touchdowns while averaging 244.8 passing yards per game. Sadberry has been a dominant force too and  has thrown 30 touchdowns while averaging 97.5 passing yards per game.
