Basketball Recap: DeLand-Weldon Comes Up Short

DeLand-Weldon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were dealt a 68-27 loss at the hands of the Westville Tigers. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 62-16 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

DeLand-Weldon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Westville, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

DeLand-Weldon will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cerro Gordo/Bement at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Westville and Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] will round out the year against one another at at 4:00 p.m. on December 28th.
