Softball Recap: North Middlesex Regional Takes a Loss

North Middlesex Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the St. Bernard's Central Catholic Bernardians, falling 11-1. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bernardians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in June of 2021.

Emily Archambault spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and six unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, North Middlesex Regional saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bianca Lake, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base was Lake's first of the season.

North Middlesex Regional's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for St. Bernard's Central Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Middlesex Regional will venture away from home to challenge Leominster at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for St. Bernard's Central Catholic, they will head out to face off against North at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
