Softball Recap: Calvary Christian Warriors vs. Baldwin Indians

Calvary Christian had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Baldwin Indians by a score of 6-3 on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for Calvary Christian as they're now sitting on 14 straight.

Morgen Talley made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over ten innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits. Talley has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than six innings in seven consecutive pitching appearances. Talley was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Alexis Camilleri was incredible, going 2-for-5 with two runs, a triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Irianis Garcia, who went 1-for-5 with a triple, a run, and an RBI.

Calvary Christian pushed their record up to 23-5 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Baldwin, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 29-2.

Calvary Christian is on the road again on Wednesday to play Montverde Academy at 7:00 p.m. Montverde Academy will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Calvary Christian surely won't give up without a fight. Baldwin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
