Baseball Game Preview: Welsh Greyhounds vs. Lafayette Christian Academy Knights

Welsh is 0-3 against Lafayette Christian Academy since March of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Welsh Greyhounds will be playing at home against the Lafayette Christian Academy Knights at 5:30 p.m. Welsh is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

In Friday's Canine Competition, Welsh prevailed. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over Rayne on Friday.

Dane Iguess made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Lafayette Christian Academy earned a 7-2 win over Central on Monday.

Welsh pushed their record up to 12-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8 runs. As for Lafayette Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Welsh couldn't quite finish off Lafayette Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2022 and fell 5-3. Can Welsh avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
