Football Recap: Baldwin Park Finds Playoff Glory Versus Maranatha

It's playoff time, and Baldwin Park had no trouble coming through when it counted. They enjoyed a cozy 42-28 victory over the Maranatha Minutemen on Friday. 42 seems to be a good number for the Braves as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Leading Baldwin Park to victory were Valentino May and Jacory Coleman. May threw for 305 yards and four TDs while completing 77.3% of his passes, while Coleman gained 174 total yards and two touchdowns. That's the most passing yards May has posted since back in September.

When it comes to explaining why Maranatha lost, don't look at Cooper Berry. Despite the final result, he rushed for 36 yards and a pair of scores, and also caught one touchdown.

Baldwin Park now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Maranatha, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.

Coming up, Baldwin Park will be playing in front of their home fans against Shadow Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Maranatha does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
