Baseball Recap: Dallastown Victorious

After losing to Red Lion the last time they met, Dallastown decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Wildcats walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Lions on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Matt Stone tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Dallastown's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is undefeated (and 4-6 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carson Meyer, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

Dallastown's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Red Lion, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4-1.

Dallastown wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Central York on the 23rd. As for Red Lion, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-2 win against Susquehannock on the 22nd.
