Baseball Recap: Hillsdale's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Hillsdale dropped their record down to 10-8 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Sacred Heart Prep Gators by a score of 4-2. The Fighting Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Gators earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Robert Gilbert was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

As for Sacred Heart Prep, their record is now 9-12. The game was the first time they have beaten Hillsdale on their field since May 14, 2021.

On Sacred Heart Prep's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Gee, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Gee is becoming a predictor of the Gators' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 7-11 when he doesn't). JP Durrett also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
