Basketball Recap: Zach Schatzman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ransom Everglades over Don Soffer Aventura

Ransom Everglades was the 52-43 winner over Don Soffer Aventura when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The contest between the Ransom Everglades Raiders and the Don Soffer Aventura Barracuda didn't end well, with the Ransom Everglades Raiders falling 60-46. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ransom Everglades' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zach Schatzman, who posted 18 points. Those 18 points gave Schatzman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alijah Mourning, who earned six points and five blocks.

Even though they lost, Ransom Everglades was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Don Soffer Aventura found their leader in sophomore Dimitri Tatulishvili, who had 26 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Tatulishvili is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tom Sela, who scored 14 points and six boards.

Ransom Everglades' loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Don Soffer Aventura, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Ransom Everglades didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-39 victory against Marathon on the 15th. Don Soffer Aventura has also already played their next game, an 81-45 defeat against Pine Crest on the 16th.
