Basketball Game Preview: Francis W. Parker Colonels vs. Willows Academy Eagles

Francis W. Parker hasn't had much luck against Willows Academy recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Francis W. Parker Colonels will welcome the Willows Academy Eagles at 6:30 p.m.

Francis W. Parker is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Southland College Prep on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Francis W. Parker took a blow against Southland College Prep, falling 49-22. The Colonels were down 43-15 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the defeat, Francis W. Parker had strong showings from Jojo Husbeck, who posted seven points and nine boards, and Ayla Pressman, who earned no points. The dominant performance gave Husbeck a new career-high in rebounds.

Meanwhile, Willows Academy waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victor by a 57-34 margin over the Titans. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Willows Academy has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Francis W. Parker, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.

Francis W. Parker took a serious blow against Willows Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 65-23. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Francis W. Parker was down 49-11.
