Basketball Recap: Monte Alto Piles Up the Points Against Vanguard Academy Mozart

There's no place like home for Monte Alto, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They claimed a resounding 53-25 win over Vanguard Academy Mozart. The Blue Devil have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Monte Alto had a senior duo take command as Brian Ruiz dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards and Ricky Serrano posted 17 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ruiz has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jaime Perez, who earned four points and six rebounds.

Monte Alto's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Vanguard Academy Mozart, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-5.

Monte Alto will venture away from home to take on IDEA North Mission at 7:00 p.m. on December 17th. As for Vanguard Academy Mozart, they will welcome Vanguard Academy Beethoven at 7:00 p.m. on December 17th.
